The Ardia of Sedilo is an equestrian joust that takes place on the evening of July 6 and is repeated on the morning of July 7 each year in honor of Saint Constantine. Above all, it is an expression of faith, but also a demonstration of courage by the riders devoted to the Saint. This thrilling event draws worshippers from all over Sardinia, and over the years, the number of foreign tourists who come to witness this daring horseback race live has grown, attracted by the rituals that make it unique. The Ardia is held on the outskirts of the town of Sedilo, near the Church of Saint Constantine. Around this church, more than 100 riders race at full gallop, following a precise and well-defined order. The event is accompanied by numerous religious celebrations and rituals, as well as concerts and shows near the sanctuary, beginning on July 5 and concluding on July 17 with the Ardia on foot.
