Gennargentu

In the heart of the island lies a mountain range, covered by ancient forests, home to the golden eagle and the mouflon: the Gennargentu is a triumph of nature in an unspoiled and wild land. In spring, its meadows are colored by sa rosa ‘e monte, the peony, in ancient times the only flower to bloom on Olympus. In spring, during the thyme bloom, the air fills with an intense fragrance. Numerous hiking trails will guide you to extraordinary views: climb to Punta La Marmora, at 1,834 meters, the highest peak in Sardinia. Gennargentu is magical in winter when snow whitens the chimneys, and the landscape seems frozen in time.
