The Nivola Museum in Orani is dedicated to the artist Costantino Nivola, contemporary art, the landscape, and living traditions. Through its activities, it supports the cultural and economic growth of the local and regional area. Managed by the Nivola Foundation, the museum was established in 1995, a few years after Costantino Nivola’s death (Long Island, 1988), and has continued to expand ever since. Today, it stands as a cultural complex where art, architecture, and nature harmoniously interact, thanks also to the park where the museum is located and the ancient Su Cantaru spring within it, which still holds a symbolic and functional role for the local community. The permanent collection boasts hundreds of works by Nivola, including sculptures, paintings, and prints; Nivola was a prominent figure in 20th-century modernist explorations focused on the relationship between sculpture and architecture. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and artist residencies, primarily centered on the key themes explored by Nivola (the relationship between art, architecture, and landscape, as well as public and participatory art).
